Caryn Weaks

Caryn

Caryn Weaks, a valued co-worker at Deal's for some 29 years and, more importantly, a great friend to us all, passed on Saturday, January 23, 2021, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Remembrances from a few of her friends and colleagues at Deal's:

“I always found Caryn to be generous. She would bring in food, clothes and toys for us and our families. She used to say she had a 6th sense; she could tell who walked into the shop by how the door opened or how our boots sounded on the steps. Many customers would comment on how nice she was to talk to on the phone and how helpful she was. It’s sad that so many people she interacted with will only ever know her voice; never really got to see or meet the person she was beyond the phone.”

“Caryn was a rock to lean on whenever we needed help. She was the person to depend on anytime she was asked. She was also very imaginative and was the source behind our Gingerbread Barn at Christmas. One fall day, after walking to the mailbox, she came back into the office and said ‘We should make this barn into a gingerbread house. It’s the right color.’ And then, with her inspiration, we made it happen. She always had a smile on her face. Then there were her fingernails; always long, colorful, playful and constantly changing. We miss you Caryn.”

“Caryn was one employee who was always at work early or on time. If she wasn’t at the office on time, I knew something was wrong. When she was early, we would sit and chat for a few minutes before getting to work. Whenever she was overloaded with work, she never let it bother her. She always knew she’d get it done. And she did. Mostly, I miss our morning chats when we solved the troubles of the world. I know she loved her kids and grandkids and would do anything in the world for them. There will never be another Caryn. She’s dancing with the angels now.”

"Caryn was always a great rep for Deal's! I've been a Deal's client for over 35 years, Caryn was always one of the best reps for their company… friendly, understanding, and always more than willing to go the extra mile to help with any problem. I'll really miss her!"

You'll be greatly missed, Caryn!
